If you are a PBF member and you sustain a permanent spinal cord injury that leaves you paraplegic or quadriplegic, you are entitled apply for a discretionary benefit payment in accordance with the Schedule of Benefits (current maximum $100, 000) within weeks of diagnosis. It has been developed to help pay your mortgage or buy a decent wheel chair or modify your house, so you don't have to spend a minute longer than you need to in hospital.

A huge benefit, for a negligible cost of -

$40/yr for an individual
$54/yr for a couple,
$70/yr for a family (including all children under 17 years.)

You may have top-tier health cover or premium income replacement insurance but these may not be able to provide you with the immediate assistance you will need. PBF aims to pay its eligible members within weeks of diagnosis* of a permanent spinal cord injury.

And even if you never need us, your membership fee is put to work educating the community about the risk of spinal cord injury, and how to reduce it. Help protect yourself by supporting us.
