Why should we consider PBF?


  Worker’s comp doesn’t cover employees outside work, nor while travelling to and from work. Payouts are capped, and settlement can take YEARS. Meanwhile, the staggeringly high costs of being wheelchair-dependent must be met somehow. Financial pressure is the last thing a newly spinal injured person needs. PBF membership may help remove some of that immediate pressure.

Corporate membership is extremely cost-effective - from as little as $12.00 per annum, per staff member.

PBF's corporate members benefit in three main ways:

  1. Staff are eligible to apply for a discretionary benefit payment in accordance with the Schedule of Benefits (current maximum $100, 000) within weeks of diagnosis if they sustain a permanent spinal cord injury.*
  2. They can take advantage of PBFPREVENTION - workplace - a powerful injury prevention programme, at reduced rates. PBFPREVENTION - workplace features an attention-grabbing testimony from someone who is a paraplegic or quadriplegic as a result of an incident at work. It aims to make workers intrinsically motivated to put safety first at all times and is an invaluable addition to any OH&S programme.
  3. Enhanced community relations. PBF can arrange for significant one-off gifts to be made to needy members of the local Para-quad community. Gifts are usually presented by representatives of the corporate members, and PBF will arrange mass-media coverage to ensure the maximum public relations value is captured by our corporate member. Corporate members can also enjoy the benefits of PBF's considerable media exposure at events such as the Simpson Desert Cycle Challenge.
