"There are a few rules that everyone should follow and it’s as simple as entering the water feet first. If you can’t see the bottom, don’t dive, and if the surfs too big, go somewhere else and always remember to respect the aquatic environment."

Here's how to play it safe when you are...
In or on the water:
- Enter the water feet first.
- Be mindful of murky water.
- Check the depth.
- Look for submerged objects like rocks, sand and sandbars.
- Sandbars change position with the currents. Always be aware of their presence below the surface of the water.
- Respect the power of the surf. Waves dump. Only ride the waves you know you can handle.
On the road:
- Stick to the speed limit.
- If you choose to drink, don’t drive.
- Plan ahead, know how your going to get home before you go out.
- Understand the warning signs of fatigue and take action.
- Always wear a seatbelt.
- Pull over to answer your mobile or change the radio.

At work...
- Be aware of your environment and the potential hazards and risks.
- Be proactive in your approach to safety.
- Before you start something, think:
- What am I about to do?
- How could I get hurt?
- What can I do to prevent that?
