J.B. (Sam) Gannon, Chairman
Sam Gannon has had a successful career spanning 44 years in the financial services sector. Commencing as a sole trader in 1970, he then established an independent advisory firm, Gannon Growden Schonell which, through mergers, became the national ASX listed firm SFG Australia Limited. Sam served as both chairman and deputy chair of the national firm until 2014.
He was also deputy chair and chairman of the West Australian Cricket Association from 2004 to 2015. He is currently on the Board of the Wally Foreman Foundation, a small foundation which provides financial assistance to young athletes who show great potential.
Simon Bedbrook, Director
Simon is the grandson of the founder of PBF, Sir George Bedbrook. Simon began his career in the Management Consulting and the Financial Services Industry. He is Managing Director of Bedbrook Financial Services which offers investment and retirement planning advice. He has a Bachelor of Agricultural Science and an Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning (Financial Services). Simon is the Chairman of Impact100WA and on the Western Australian committee of Family Business Australia.
Craig Serjeant, Director
Craig is a certified financial planner and a specialist accredited adviser with Self-Managed Super Fund Professionals of Australia (SMSF Association). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Curtin University, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment with the Securities Institute of Australia, now FINSIA.
After working as a pharmacist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth for 12 years, Craig joined Gannon Growden Schonell & Associates Pty Ltd (later to form part of Shadforth Financial Group) in September 1988.
Steve Maxwell, Director
Steve Maxwell is a practiced and successful corporate executive with extensive experience in operating and managing enterprise technology. He has specialised in the development of innovative and high performance technology solutions across government, banking and gaming sectors.
A global CIO at organisations in Australia, Europe and the UK, he is prominent in the technology industry worldwide, with a career spanning more than 30 years. Steve is Managing Director of BWT, a company delivering technology and business solutions to the betting, gaming and technology sectors in Australia, Europe and Asia.
Robin Piesse, Director
Robin has held senior management and executive roles within State Government, specialising in the delivery of marketing, communications and frontline services.
She is currently a Board Advisor, with responsibility for strategy and governance at WA Parks Foundation.
Robin has a Bachelor of Arts (Geography) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business.
Esme Bowen, Director
Esme is the immediate past President of The Royal Automobile Club of WA and is a member of RAC Council, the RAC Sponsorship Committee and previously a Director of the Australian Automobile Association. She is a Life member of Rebound WA, Chair of the Carers Advisory Council and foundation member of the Children’s Hospital Alumni of Western Australia.
Esme has been a company director of, and remains involved in, a Perth-based family surf business. She has been involved in tourism and hospitality ventures in the Kimberley region of WA. Esme has almost 30 years of nursing and disability experience and has worked as a community road safety advocate for many years. She holds BSc (Nursing), FAICD.
