Will is an adventurous young man, with a penchant for long dog walks and a good coffee.
In November 2022, to celebrate the end of Year 11 exams and becoming a school prefect, Will headed to Trigg Beach for a swim with his mates. Though he was a cautious teenager, safety was never the forefront of his mind when undertaking any adventures.
It was a sunny day, and the water was flat. Will dived into the water and hit his head on the sandbar shattering his C7 vertebrae. However, Will is now classified as a T2 incomplete paraplegic.
Will is sharing his story with students to share the importance of safe behaviour in and around the water and how some choices can lead to devasting consequences.
