PBF injury prevention programs
Back
Everyday someone in Australia suffers a spinal cord injury. While most Australians understand the importance of safety in the workplace, on the road and the water, very few people make it a priority in their life – until it’s too late.
PBF is committed to spinal cord injury prevention in Australia and has developed a range of injury prevention programs that aim to reduce the incidence of serious injury at work or play. Each interactive presentation offers participants a first-hand account of what it is like to experience and live with a spinal cord injury in Australia.
Our injury prevention program speakers have all sustained a permanent injury; with many living full lives as a quadriplegic or paraplegic member of the community. Through our speakers’ personal stories, PBF can build greater awareness of the risks of spinal cord injury in Australia and encourage safer workplaces and support better decision-making.
During our youth, road, aqua and workplace prevention programs, our speakers share personal accounts of the challenges of life before injury, decisions made leading up to the injury and the impact their injury has had on their life and the lives around them.
Our spinal cord injury prevention programs can be tailored for all demographics from school age children, through to teens and adults and can be delivered face-to-face or digitally if this is not possible.
Many organisations understand the value that our injury prevention speakers can add. Dane Blower from RM Surveys commenting: “Health and Safety of our team is of the utmost importance to RM Surveys. Not only does our PBF corporate membership provide financial protection to our employees 24/7, but we also value their injury prevention programs. PBF’s face-to-face presentations, and more recently their digital programs, have helped enhance our safety messaging to our employees. We find that our team really connect with the personal stories shared by the PBF presenters. Especially now with the changes happening to the Work Health and Safety laws in WA, I would encourage other organisations to consider booking a PBF injury prevention presentation”
