Vale Sam Gannon
Back
Following the sudden and sad passing of John Bryant “Sam” Gannon, the Board of PBF Australia would like to formally acknowledge and recognise his significant contribution since being appointed as Chairman in December 2016.
A former Australian Test and Sheffield Shield cricketer, and Cricket Australia Board Director, he was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list in 2017 for his service to cricket.
Sam had a successful career spanning 44 years in the financial services sector and his wealth of experience and strong leadership style provided PBF Australia with a clear advantage in our decision making. His wise counsel, generosity, charm, and good humour will be greatly missed.
Long serving PBF Board member Craig Serjeant will be the Acting Chair pending the formal appointment of Sam’s successor.
